How to Install Cinnamon In Ubuntu

The default desktop environment of Linux Mint, Cinnamon, has generated rave reviews from Gnome lovers. It is based on Gnome shell and provides some features of Gnome Classic as well. If you are an avid Ubuntu lover then you don’t need to switch to Linux Mint just for trying this beautiful desktop environment. We will see in this post how to install Cinnamon in Ubuntu 12.04.

Install Cinnamon in Ubuntu 12.04:

You need to add a PPA to your software sources in order to install Cinnamon in Ubuntu 12.04. And afterwards you can use the regular method. Open your terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type the following commands one-by-one:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cinnamon
You can choose the desired desktop environment at log in.
